The Internet  vs. World Wide Web

  • What is the Internet?, Who invented it, when and why, and how it was used originally and how it is used today?
        - The internet is a vast network that can connect computers all over the world. Through the internet, people can share information and communicate from anywhere to anywhere as long as they have internet connection. The internet has a vast majority of individuals and organizations that could be responsible for it's invention. Some of these figures include, Robert W. Taylor, who developed ARPANET, and Vinton Cerf and Robert Kahn who developed the (TCP/IP) technologies. Basically, the internet was created to interconnect computers around the world. Originally, it was used to support human communication via social media, supply people with electronic mail, and to allow audio/video transmission. Now, the internet is used for all those further points including e - businesses and brick-and-mortar companies that carry out their sales online.

  • What is World Wide Web, who founded/ created it, when and why, how was it used originally and how is it used today?
        - The World Wide Web, which is a way that people could share information by exploiting an emerging technology called hypertext, was created by Sir Tim Berners - Lee in  1989. He states that he wanted to make underlying code available on a "royalty - free basis". Originally it was created so that anyone, anywhere could use it without paying a fee or having to ask for permission. Now, it is used as a place where people can use a web that is "safe, empowering, and for everyone".
  • Is the internet and World Wide Web the same, different, do they work together, separate, side by side?
        - The internet and the World Wide Web is not the same thing. However, they do work together. Specifically, the Internet is given a broader spectrum with the help of the World Wide Web because it let's people use the internet without having to continuously create underlying codes for every time they want to open a browser/"google" something.
  • When was the first website created, who created it, is it still up, url?
        -The first website created was by Tim Berners in 1991, it was dedicated to information about the world wide web. It is still working @  http://info.cern.ch/hypertext/WWW/TheProject.html .

Re-Coloring A Black and White Picture

           Re-Coloring A Black and White Picture                                                                                                                                          In this project, I used adobe photoshop to recolor different black and white photos of myself based on certain color schemes. For each color scheme I wanted to include a reasonable color for my skin. I also realize after the project that due to my dress being a dark color, most of the new colors turned out a different shade and didn't turn out as well. For the future, I would re-color a picture that had lighter clothing to make it pop more.

Personal Logos

 Personal Logos      In this project, I used Adobe Illustrator to create a personal Logo for myself that could describe who I am as a person. I thought to myself well, I really love my plants and I like going to the gym and being active, so that's what I created. I think these logos show my need to grow and learn, and my determination and strength. Other than the coding project, this is by far my favorite piece that I have made so far. I used the pen tool to create all the shapes and it took me around 3 hours for my base piece and than about an hour for all the colored pieces.
